Internship Focus & Opportunity:

We are seeking enthusiastic and adaptable interns to join our lean and ambitious team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience across multiple facets of a rapidly growing sustainable tourism business. You'll play a vital role in developing our core offerings, including our innovative "Impact Tours" concept, which connects conscious travelers with local projects and entrepreneurs. This role is ideal for individuals eager to learn, contribute meaningfully, and help build an awesome tour company from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities (May include, but are not limited to):

Sales Support:
Assisting in responding to client inquiries and customizing tour proposals.
Conducting market research to identify potential client segments.
Supporting the sales team in nurturing leads and converting inquiries into bookings.
Marketing & Communications:
Contributing to the development of engaging content for our website, social media channels, and newsletters.
Assisting in the creation of marketing campaigns to reach target audiences in Europe, USA, Canada, and Australia.
Researching and implementing digital marketing strategies to increase brand awareness.
Product Development (with a focus on Impact Tours):
Researching and vetting potential local impact projects and social enterprises for inclusion in new tour itineraries.
Assisting in the design and refinement of "Impact Tour" experiences, ensuring they are both engaging for travelers and beneficial for communities.
Gathering feedback to continuously improve tour offerings.
Partnership Building:
Researching and identifying potential B2B partners (e.g., outbound tour operators, travel consortia, niche travel agencies) in key international markets.
Assisting in preparing materials for partner outreach and initial communications.
Supporting the onboarding process for new travel agents.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

A strong passion for travel, sustainable tourism, and East Africa.
Relevant academic background in Tourism, Hospitality, Business, Marketing, Environmental Studies, International Development, or a related field.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn in a fast-paced startup environment.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Prior experience in sales, marketing, or the travel industry is a plus, but passion and a willingness to grow are highly valued.

Logistical Planning Support: Assisting with the operational aspects of pilot impact tours, ensuring seamless execution for both clients and local partners.
Impact Measurement: Contributing to frameworks for assessing and communicating the social and environmental impact of these specialized tours.
Cross-Cultural Communication: Engaging with diverse stakeholders, from local communities to international travelers.
