Additionally, we are currently seeking to welcome a Speech Language Pathologist into our friendly and supportive team. Position: Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) Rate: $95 - $115 per hour Location: Richmond Hill - In person Job Type: Up to 18 hours per week Job Description Conducts comprehensive assessments to evaluate patients' speech, language, and swallowing abilities, identifying areas of impairment, and establishing treatment goals Develops individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, incorporating evidence-based therapeutic techniques and interventions Provides direct therapy to patients to improve their speech production, language comprehension and expression, pragmatics skills, theory of mind, descriptive skills, articulation, voice quality, fluency, and swallowing function Utilizes a variety of treatment modalities, such as articulation therapy, language therapy, oral motor exercises, cognitive-communication therapy, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) strategies Attending monthly case study meetings at the clinic to foster teamwork within an interdisciplinary approach Assists patients/families with obtaining equipment and devices that aid communication strategies (e.g., AAC devices, assistive listening devices, communication applications, etc.) Provides guidance and support to patients, families, and caregivers to facilitate the carryover of therapy techniques and strategies into daily life Maintains accurate and detailed documentation, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries Running educational workshops for colleagues once every two months within the domain of expertise Qualifications Completion of a Master's degree from a Speech-Language Pathology program. Registered with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario Minimum 3-5 years of experience working as a Speech-Language Pathologist (pediatric field) Proficient in conducting assessments, interpreting assessment results, and formulating evidence-based treatment plans Capacity to handle highly intensive workloads Experience working with children with Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) is highly valued Experience using a variety of assessment tools and therapy techniques commonly used in speech-language pathology Experience in utilizing play-based roles, modeling, and role-playing techniques to promote contextualized communication Additional Information: Catch a Balloon Clinic is dedicated to fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
