Overview
This is an exciting moment in CEPR’s 40-year history, with the recent opening of our Paris office. We are now in the process of expanding our activities in France and plan to move our headquarters to Paris next year. As part of this growth, we are seeking an intern to work in our events team.
Internship Objectives
The Events Intern will gain hands-on experience of the administrative running of CEPR’s meetings, webinars and symposia.
Specific tasks:
- Become familiar with CiviCRM
- Maintain and update mailing lists
- Draft call for papers/invitations on Mailchimp
- Create reply forms on Microsoft Forms
- Generate reports on paper submissions
- Produce travel budgets
- Draft programmes based on a list of selected authors and their paper titles
- Assist with hosting and livestreaming online meetings/webinars on Zoom and YouTube
- Provide on-site assistance at events held in Paris
- Update content on the CEPR webpage
- Process meeting expense claims
- Research on suitable venues, hotels and restaurants located in Paris
- Other ad-hoc duties as may be required, including general office duties and liaising with the events team in London
Person Specification
We are seeking a bright and enthusiastic individual, with excellent administrative and organisational skills. In addition, they will be/have:
- Live in the Région Paris-Île-de-France (essential)
- Have the right to work in the EU (essential)
- Enrolled in higher education with a university or other learning institution (essential)
- Able to commit to a minimum total of 308 hours (essential)
- A current student in event or business management related subject
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, hectic and rapidly changing environment and particularly to deadlines
- Well organised and methodical, with a strong attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal communication and teamwork skills
- High degree of familiarity with the Microsoft 365 suite, particularly using Excel
- English speaking with good communication skills (verbal and written)
- Proficiency in French (written and spoken) is a plus
- Comfortable working in Sterling, Euros and USD
