POSITION SUMMARY Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, as a Buyer, you will be responsible for executing the material supply plan to achieve 100% build in station target for suppliers in a timely manner. You will maintain supplier communications to ensure they have accurate information to support the business plan. WHAT YOU WILL DO: Completes transactions in Oracle accurately to maintain data integrity and ensures that performance targets are met. Develops and sustains a professional relationship with suppliers and customers. Resolves supply related issues with the supplier and escalates concerns on parts that will not meet need date. Reports status of parts delivery in Oracle to support the Leads at the daily parts meeting and helps set plant priorities. Identifies suppliers that are underperforming and works with the Lead to have suppliers create improvement plans. Submits engineering documentation to suppliers on a timely basis and supports first article documentation requirements. Supports traffic personnel in securing required documentation for secure shipment of goods to our facilities. Works with staff in other departments to complete tasks, resolve problems and support process improvements. WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL: Three years of Purchasing or Planning experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of MRP systems and inventory planning, MS Office, Oracle, and Excel skills are required. Innovative problem-solver who can generate workable solutions and resolve complaints. Motivated self-starter with high level of initiative. Excellent interpersonal skills combined with a professional attitude to provide and maintain excellent customer service. Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. University or college graduate in Supply Management would be considered an asset.
