JUNIOR SAFETY OFFICER (ICT INDUSTRY)

RedCat Recruitment is seeking a JUNIOR SAFETY OFFICER for a well-established, growing concern, position based in the Pretoria area, Johannesburg. REQUIREMENTS Grade 12. Valid drivers license / own reliable transport Diploma or certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field SAMTRAC. Registered with SACPCMP essential Certification in First Aid and CPR advantageous. Strong computer skills (MS Office, Email / Internet). English speaking (must be able to speak, read and write English competently). 5yrs previous working experience in a similar position. Assist in conducting regular safety inspections of the workplace to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Assist in investigating accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions. Assist in developing and implementing safety procedures, policies, and guidelines in accordance with regulatory requirements. Assist in conducting safety training sessions for employees on topics such as hazard identification, emergency procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage. Monitor and ensure the proper use and maintenance of safety equipment and facilities. Collaborate with other departments to address safety concerns and implement corrective measures. Assist in maintaining safety records and documentation, including incident reports, inspection logs, and training records. Stay updated on relevant safety regulations and industry best practices to ensure compliance and continuous improvement. Participate in safety meetings and committees to contribute ideas and recommendations for enhancing workplace safety. Perform any other duties as assigned by senior safety personnel or management.
