Job Description

RedCat Recruitment is seeking an experienced PLANT MANAGER (MANUFACTURING / PRODUCTION) for a large international concern. Position based in the Pietermaritzburg area. JOB DESCRIPTION Grade 12. Production or related qualification preferred. English / Zulu speaking person. Valid Code 08 drivers license / own reliable vehicle. Competent computer skills (MS Office, Email / Internet). 8yrs experience within a production or manufacturing environment. 5yrs experience in a management position. Complying with health, safety and risk regulations; environment and sustainability; leadership and human resources; quality and laboratory; finance and administration; procurement and inventory; operations management; business intelligence and communication. Duties include production, planning (logistics, raw materials, and order entry), health and safety, quality control, administrative and financial functions. Ensure the strategic and operational management of the operation. Coordinate the branch departments and contractors and to optimise branch performance. Oversee and manage the production of the mill on a daily basis. To ensure that all company requirements on HR, quality, safety, risk, environment, administration and operations are met within the production environment. Strong financial skills. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Ability to reach deadlines and work in a pressurized environment. Person must be prepared to work overtime and weekends when required.
