Associate Software Engineer - Java Backend Development

Role Purpose: We are seeking a Backend Software Engineer to become an integral part of our engineering team. You will be responsible for creating and enhancing a Java/SpringBoot backend to a sophisticated, cloud-based, SaaS solution for monitoring Industrial IoT networks. This ranges from data ingestion, reasoning engines and RESTful APIs to web and mobile device interfaces. The work involves adding support for new features as well as enhancing existing capabilities ranging from correcting problems and improving performance, to adding incremental capabilities to existing features. Job Metrics: - Develop key skills and knowledge of Verint applications - Timely development of product enhancements - Meet quality gates for deliverables - Documentation for technical designs and specifications - Mentoring Intern Engineers - Specific MBOs as agreed with Manager Area Key Skills: - Core Tasks Work with team members to create or modify APIs - Accommodate new forms of data by adjusting data models and/or ingestion engine - Collaborate with other developers to design and optimize code and database - Collaborate with other developers to design and implement new features and capabilities - Perform routine software maintenance - Logical and structured thinking - Connect and collaborate with the technical and business team members spread across time zone and culture for a larger goal and strive to win as a team. - Being ethically right is of utmost importance. - Adaptive to new learnings, possibly in new age tech - Ability to innovate and execute Skills Mandatory: - Bachelors or masters in computer science with up to 2 Years of previous work experience - Must have familiarity with Linux, Java, SpringBoot, App Servers, and relational databases - Must understand core principles of object oriented programming - Must have familiarity with security frameworks and coding for security. - Experience of working with IoT devices - Experience with websockets, Tomcat and Cloud-based application development preferred - Experience of service observability for cloud scale applications through a SaaS based data analytics platform like DataDog, etc Good to have: - Familiarity with PostgresDB and Grails preferred. - Familiarity with Spring Security framework preferred - Previous experience of REST APIs - Knowledge of design patterns in a plus (ref:hirist.tech)
