Support Services Assistant: Horticulture

CORE PURPOSE OF JOB To maintain gardens and grounds to ensure quality standards in University grounds, open spaces, and gardens. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS Gardens and grounds maintenance Nursery Maintenance Compliance to Safety, Health and Environmental Requirements Use of tools and equipment CORE COMPETENCIES Basic understanding of all relevant Safety, Health and Environmental requirements Ability to work in a noisy and hazardous environment Attention to Detail Teamwork Knowledge and understanding of cleaning materials and equipment Knowledge and understanding of the minimum specifications and guidelines or requirements MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Grade 8 - 12 (or equivalent technical qualification). Normally 0-12 months relevant and / or related working experience Nelson Mandela University reserves the right not to make an appointment.
