This position is in the Business Operations Group in the Atlanta Regional Office (ARO) located in Atlanta, GA. This is a temporary appointment, not-to-exceed one year. This appointment may be extended without further competition based on the need of the organization for the work to continue and provided the selectee continues to meet the eligibility requirements.

The Pathways Internship Program targets students accepted for enrollment or currently enrolled at an accredited educational institution pursuing a qualifying degree or certificate (high school diploma, college degree, professional degree, technical/trade/vocational certificate, etc.), on a full or half-time basis. (Applicants who do not meet the definition of "student" will not be considered.) Internships can be seasonal (spring, summer, fall) or year-round. At the successful conclusion of this program, you may be eligible for non-competitive conversion to a federal career or career-conditional position. Interns may work full-time or part-time schedules.

All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying education must have been obtained from an accredited college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. In order to qualify for this position at the GS/SK-04 level you must possess at least one of the following: (A.) One year of general experience with progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.
(B.) Successfully completed two years of education above the high school level.
(C.) A combination of post-high school education and general experience, as described above, which meets 100% of the qualification requirements.
