Ad Sales & Marketing Intern

Job Location

Within Continental United States - Tucson, AZ, United States

Job Description

The Tipsy Nerds Book Club (TNBC) is a new but growing podcast that is in need of a personable, creative and energetic marketing and ad sales intern/independent contractor to help us grow even more. TNBC will pay a commission for all ad revenue generated by the intern/contractor. TNBC will provide training on how TNBC leads for ads and protocols for approaching desired markets. The intern will be responsible for tracking ad space availability in conjunction with the TNBC episode release. The intern will also draft ad copy per client requests and will receive training and feedback on same. The intern will also ensure that recording time is scheduled so that ads are placed according to the sales schedule.

The intern/contractor can work remotely and will set their own hours and use their own equipment provided that there will be set meetings from time-to-time with the Tipsy Nerds to go over schedules, ad sales reports, etc.

In addition to the duties of ad sales, the intern will also assist in social media marketing (SMM). SMM will include the creation of creative assets (memes, audiograms, and posts) for Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. Training will be provided as needed based on the intern's past experience. Prior use of Hootsuite is a plus as this is the application used by TNBC to schedule social media posts.

Candidates may live anywhere in the continental US, though candidates in Mountain or Pacific (or Arizona) timezones are preferred. Successful candidates must have access to the internet, phone, text, and Skype for meetings with the Tipsy Nerds and for training purposes.

TNBC is a lively discussion show that appeals to “book nerds”, especially those who love the Sci-Fi & Fantasy genre. Though the show is lighthearted, the Tipsy Nerds is about encouraging more people to read.

TNBC estimates that the internship duties will require up to ten hours of commitment each week once training is complete. Work hours are flexible. TNBC is seeking an intern that can commit to working for TNBC for at least nine months.

Interested candidates should email a brief letter stating why they are interested in the position and include a resume or CV in the body of the email (do not include attachments).
