Job Description

Join us! Visit.org is looking for a passionate, self-motivated writing & editing intern to join our team in New York City. If you’re a self-motivated individual interested in the intersection of writing and social entrepreneurship, we want to work with you!

Visit.org is a technology platform for employee-driven corporate social responsibility (CSR). We help companies discover & book hundreds of carefully curated social impact team experiences led by and benefitting local social ventures, and provide analytics to match these with employees' individual interests. We’re a startup, so the right candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit, enthusiasm for our mission, and the desire to roll up your sleeves and make the impossible happen.

Role and responsibilities:
- Compose and edit content for partner nonprofits’ activity pages on Visit.org
- Write, edit, and help create SEO-optimized content for the blog, website, newsletter, and social media
- Help create marketing collateral as needed
- Visit and help vet partner nonprofits and social ventures in NYC

What do we offer?
This internship is unpaid. We highly encourage students who can receive academic credit to apply. You will gain experience in writing web content, SEO, and the operations of a startup while making a positive impact on communities around the world. We are based in a co-working space in Tribeca.

Timeline & Commitment:
Start ASAP, 15-20 hours/week

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program
- Experience with copywriting, editing, and blogging
- Excellent writing, grammar, and proofreading skills with thorough attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as a team member
- Experience with SEO and copyediting is a plus
- Desire to gain experience in a fast-paced startup environment, wearing different hats as needed
- Self-starter who can take direction and contribute ideas
- Passionate about social good and empowering local communities
