Overview

Financial Analysts Interns are responsible for performing a wide range of ad-hoc analytical duties associated with operating a large and growing portfolio of industrial properties. The position will largely be project-based and duties may include performing due diligence tasks related to property acquisitions, dispositions and financings; providing various analyses for asset managers, investment managers, and leasing agents; assisting with the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly reforecasts; defining and tracking operational metrics for the portfolio; and the preparation of quarterly board presentations. Interns are immediately apart of our collaborative culture building enduring relationships with their fellow interns, manager and an assigned mentor.

Our 2020 spring part-time internship program will begin January 2020 and last through May 2020. To be eligible, you must be a college student during the time of the internship program.

Link Industrial Properties is Blackstone’s US industrial real estate operating platform. Link currently manages a national portfolio of high-quality, well-located industrial assets totaling over 180 million square feet throughout the US.This internship would be in Link’s Irvine, CA office, which operates properties from Denver to the West Coast. Responsibilities

As a Financial Analyst Intern, one is held accountable to, however not limited to, the following job functions:

  • Assist with company-wide asset management and investment initiatives
  • Perform various analyses including comparative lease analysis, lease restructure analysis, sale/leaseback analysis, and cash flow analyses related to underwriting of potential acquisitions
  • Participate in the annual budget and quarterly reforecast process
  • Assist with the preparation of presentations to the senior management team, as well as, preparing quarterly board presentations
  • Review diligence materials and prepare closing statements
  • Craft investment memoranda and other documentation to be shared with investment committee
  • Conduct market research including rent and sales comparison research
  • Perform special ad-hoc projects and analyses as assigned


Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Current sophomore or junior undergraduate student at an accredited four-year institution
  • Pursuing a degree in accounting, finance, real estate, economics or business with a finance/accounting concentration
  • Strong interest in commercial real estate asset management and investment
  • Basic understanding of real estate investment and financing processes including, but not limited to, market analysis, financial analysis, property valuation and capital markets
  • Minimum GPA of 3.5
  • Exceptional knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills since interaction with senior level management will be required
  • Working knowledge of Argus
  • Ability to work in Irvine, CA in a part-time capacity during the spring semester, beginning in January 2020
