*Extended Job Title* Head Nurse - Specialty Pediatrics *Position Description* The Head Nurse is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating patient care services (primarily nursing services) within an assigned specialty or sub-specialty area of a clinic. Persons in this position provide supervision and coordination of service to subordinate nursing personnel and may provide various levels of direct patient care. Work is performed under usual clinic conditions. *Requisition ID* 42875BR *Travel Required* None *Pay Grade Maximum* 12138.27 *Major/Essential Functions* Head Nurse- Specialty Pediatrics * Staff Training and Supervision * Oversees the training, orientation, and ongoing supervision of nursing staff to ensure they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively and safely. * Competency Assurance * Evaluates and verifies the clinical competency of nursing staff to ensure they are qualified to perform assigned duties and provide high-quality patient care. * Staffing and Coverage Coordination * Collaborates with the Head Nurse of Specialty Pediatrics and other relevant leaders to ensure appropriate staffing and coverage for daily clinical operations. * Electronic Health Record (EHR) Monitoring * Monitors the accurate documentation and communication of patient information in Electronic Health Records (EHR), supporting clinical decision-making and continuity of care. * Regulatory Compliance and Auditing Readiness * Ensures all clinic operations and nursing practices comply with regulatory standards and guidelines. Keeps staff informed and prepared for internal and external audits. * Emergency Preparedness * Leads the planning and execution of departmental emergency response drills.
