Job Description
Purpose of Role Lead the design, implementation, quality assurance, and ongoing development of the IB Diploma Programme in line with the IB Standards & Practices. Act as the school’s primary liaison with the IB, overseeing candidacy, authorization, evaluation, and ensuring a safe, inclusive, and academically honest learning environment. Required Experience (IB Diploma Programme) Strong academic background and teaching qualification. 3–5 years of DP teaching with programme implementation experience. Bilingual in Spanish and English. Strong project management, data literacy (IBIS/Insights or similar), and stakeholder communication skills. IBEN experience desirable. Key Responsibilities A. Mission, Strategy & Governance Promote the IB mission, Learner Profile, and international-mindedness. Co-develop and monitor the Programme Development Plan (PDP). Ensure governance, staffing, timetabling, budgeting, and resourcing for all DP subjects and the DP Core. Serve as the school’s official IB contact and ensure timely, compliant submissions. B. Culture, Inclusion & Well-being Lead the annual review, communication, and implementation of core policies (Assessment, Academic Integrity, Inclusion, Language, Admissions). Ensure appropriate access arrangements aligned with normal classroom practice. Embed well-being, safeguarding, and academic integrity across DP routines; deliver workshops for students and families. C. People, Professional Development & Resources Recruit, induct, and support DP teachers and Core leads. Plan and track required IB Professional Development. Lead collaborative planning and internal standardization/moderation. Oversee facilities, digital resources, and secure assessment and exam environments. Design timetables that safeguard DP contact hours and student access. D. Teaching, Learning & Curriculum Maintain a coherent, current DP curriculum aligned with IB subject guides. Embed Approaches to Teaching & Learning (ATL) across all subjects. Lead coordination of TOK, Extended Essay and CAS. E. Examinations & IBIS Administration Manage candidate registration, subject entries, amendments and eCoursework uploads. Oversee access arrangements, mock exams, predicted grades, EURs, retakes, and results-day procedures. Ensure secure exam conduct and invigilator training. F. Pathways, Guidance & Community Engagement Lead subject-selection processes and pathways counselling. Support the university counsellor in understanding DP recognition and school implementation. Communicate effectively with families through handbooks, calendars, policy briefings and Core events.
