About The Role Bilingual Senior Software/Data Engineer – Climate Team. Focus on scalable production‐ready product with architecture to scale with product and company. Deliver quality code, data pipelines, APIs and infrastructure. Collaborate closely with Backend and Frontend Engineers, and work with ML experts to explore Gen AI technologies. What You’ll Be Doing Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and services prioritizing simplicity, scalability, reliability, and performance. Write well‑tested, high‑quality code in Python and SQL. Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Airflow and similar tools. Implement automated testing to ensure data product quality. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver impactful features. Participate in the design and architecture of the evolving data platform. Troubleshoot and resolve bugs promptly. Champion best practices for code and data quality and testing. Drive improvements in development processes using Lean and Agile principles. Manage and scale data products to meet changing business needs. What You’ll Need 5 years’ experience as a Software Engineer, Backend Engineer or Data Engineer. Strong grasp of software engineering principles and best practices (clean code, SOLID, design patterns). Expertise in Python and SQL. Experience with Augmented Programming tools (e.g., Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf). Proven building and maintaining data pipelines in a cloud environment. Experience in data modeling and schema design. Strong testing mindset with automated tests (unit, integration, end‑to‑end). Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes and cloud platforms. Product‑oriented mindset and interest in building solutions that solve real business problems. Excellent collaboration skills in diverse teams. Ownership, impact focus and proactive problem solving. Curiosity, adaptability and motivation for a collaborative environment. Decisive and action‑oriented with rapid decision making. Highly motivated, independent and passionate about sustainability and impact. Excellent oral and written English (minimum C1). Experience working in a product‑based company. Familiarity with DBT, Snowflake, Tinybird/ClickHouse, MongoDB, DuckDB or PostgreSQL. Experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow, Dagster. Experience with TDD and trunk‑based development.
