TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Neuro RN in Peoria, Illinois, 61637! Pay Information $2,362 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Neuro Med-Surg Acute Duration: 18 weeks Shift: 12-hour nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience required License: Active Illinois license or confirmation that application process has been initiated Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Must have Level 1 trauma experience. Must have previous travel experience (no first-time travelers). Must have prior experience working on a dedicated neuro unit. Experience with heparin titrated drips based on PTT is required. Description: The unit consists of 54 beds, including semi-private rooms. During day shifts, nurse-to-patient ratios are approximately 1:4-5. Night shifts have nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5-6. Common diagnoses include stroke, spine surgery, seizure, brain tumor, head injury, and various neuroscience cases. The role may involve working with patients requiring titration of medications. A charge nurse and a house supervisor are available on each shift. Patient care techs are present with varying ratios based on the time of day. Nurses are not required to read telemetry strips as they utilize house-wide monitoring systems. Weekend requirements include working every other weekend, with both Saturday and Sunday considered as part of the weekend. Holiday coverage is required every other holiday. Staff may float within the general unit based on staffing needs. Nurses are expected to adhere to professional attire standards, including covering tattoos while on duty.
