The Role We are seeking a talented Automation Software Engineer Mainframe to contribute to our software engineering space and provide critical skills required for the development of cutting‑edge products. Key Responsibilities Evaluate and implement orchestration, automation, and tooling solutions to ensure consistent processes and higher accuracy. Advance design, development, testing, and deployment of software applications and systems. Drive modification, documentation, and maintenance of software for high reliability and availability. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to address technical challenges and optimize application performance. Analyze system requirements and deliver innovative technical solutions to enhance software quality and efficiency. Complete code reviews and automated testing to maintain high‑quality code standards. Co‑create effectively with teams in product and business to align technology initiatives with business objectives. Who You Are You’re customer‑focused, growth‑oriented, and inclusive. Technical Skills Automation in mainframe environments, proficiency in mainframe‑specific languages and Python, Java. Solid understanding of distributed systems, algorithms, relational and NoSQL databases. Hands‑on experience with planning, analysis, development, testing, configuration and maintenance tools for mainframe applications. Experience with large‑scale automation (self‑healing, job scaling, automatic retriggers). Strong foundation in OOP and multi‑language proficiency for cross‑platform development. Experience with CI/CD tools – Jenkins, GitHub, UrbanCode Deploy, build and deployment pipelines. Knowledge of system integration via APIs, batch and real‑time data layers, technologies like Kafka, Solace, IBM MQ. Understanding of cloud‑native principles adapted to mainframe (service discovery, fault tolerance, observability, automation, monitoring). Skilled in automated testing and documentation – functional, performance, environment validation. Excellent verbal and written communication, collaboration with cross‑functional and global teams. Fluent in English. Preferred Qualifications Public Cloud certification. Experience with AWS, Azure, Google Cloud. DevOps knowledge for high‑availability IT infrastructure. Agile software development methodologies – Scrum/Kanban, iterations, user stories. Experience designing and coding for automation and troubleshooting across multiple platforms and languages (Java, HTML5, JavaScript, .NET). Building live production APIs and services. Relevant business domain functions. Work Hours 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM MST.
