CNC Machinist Location: Preson Starting Pay: £15.50 per hour (Reviewed after 3 months – Up to £18.50ph for multi-control confidence) Hours: * Monday – Thursday: 07:30 – 17.30 * Overtime available The Opportunity We are currently recruiting for a skilled CNC Machinist to join a well-established precision engineering company that specialises in long bed machining (up to 3.7m in 3 axis and 4m in 5 axis). This is a fantastic opportunity for a time-served machinist to work on both hard and soft metals, using a range of CNC controls including Mazatrol, Heidenhain, Fanuc, and Hurco. Key Responsibilities * Program and set CNC machines using provided production/process documentation * Operate CNC machines across 3, 4 and 5 axis setups * Interpret and work from technical drawings * Carry out 1st off inspections and self-inspection to ensure quality and accuracy * Complete internal production and quality records * Support production planning for efficient machine use * Use FLT and overhead crane to load/unload billets * Perform routine machine maintenance and general housekeeping * Adhere to all Health & Safety regulations Requirements * Time-served engineering apprenticeship with City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering (minimum) * HNC in Engineering (advantageous) * Minimum 5 years’ experience in 3, 4, and 5 axis machining * Confident using controls (experience with Heidenhain, Mazatrol, Fanuc, and Hurco desirable ) * Aerospace manufacturing experience is a strong asset * Strong communication and problem-solving skills Salary Progression Starting rate is £15.50ph, with a performance review after 3 months. Upon demonstrating competence across all required controls and machines, rate will increase to £18.50ph
