Mechanical Design Engineer – Building Services

With a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, efficient designs and a loyal base of repeat clients, we’re involved in projects across the large residential, hotel, leisure, and commercial sectors The Role: We’re looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to support and lead a design team of junior, graduate, and intermediate engineers. You’ll take responsibility for managing multiple projects nationwide, ensuring design quality, compliance, and client satisfaction from concept through to completion. Key Responsibilities: * Manage mechanical design and project coordination across multiple schemes * Lead internal teams, ensuring delivery to agreed standards and deadlines * Oversee financial control, fee monitoring, and resource planning * Ensure design quality and compliance with company standards and statutory regulations * Support and mentor junior engineers, promoting team development and technical excellence * Liaise with clients and directors to maintain strong working relationships and identify new opportunities * Attend site and client meetings, representing the company professionally * Contribute to business development and maintain client satisfaction across projects About You: * Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering / Design Engineering * Proven experience managing mechanical design projects within the MEP space * Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills * Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant design software * Full UK driving licence, CSCS card, and valid passport Why Join Us: * A basic Salary of £50,000 - £60,000 * Strong forward workload with repeat clients * Genuine opportunity for career progression * Supportive team environment and flexible working options Keywords: Design Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Mechanical Design, Mechanical Ventilation, Heating Systems, Mechanical Cooling, Heat Pump, Plant Room, Thermal Dynamic Modelling, Building Services, Autocad
