Job Description

Element Materials Technology is seeking motivated graduates or early-career professionals to join our team as ATEX Test and Certification Engineers. ATEX refers to European regulations governing equipment used in potentially explosive atmospheres, ensuring safety and compliance in industries such as oil, gas, chemicals, and mining. As a Notified Body under the ATEX Directive, Element is authorised to assess, test, and certify equipment to ensure it meets stringent international safety standards. Our engineers evaluate product designs, conduct technical assessments, and prepare certification documentation for global clients. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop expertise in hazardous area equipment certification, contribute to global safety, and work with cutting-edge technologies. Ideal candidates will have a background in electrical or electronic engineering and a keen interest in product safety and compliance. Responsibilities: Be accountable for accurate and timely release of testing data to customers including sign-offs of quality control data as acceptable Be expected to obtain guidance in non-routine situation testing Have the ability to oversee standard and/or routine technical problem solving activities Interact with customers on technical issues and questions Provide Input and support on business development opportunities with new or existing customers Be confident in making both formal and informal presentations on conventional and/or routine testing to a wide range of stakeholders Carry out crucial examination and implementation of testing concepts and data Utilize an assortment of skill, methods, procedures and materials in advanced testing analysis Be adept at drawing on internal knowledge as well as industry and/or academic resources in reaching testing conclusions Assessment of products designed to national, regional and international standards. Preparation of technical reports and technical files Skills / Qualifications Working knowledge of laboratory safety Possess a high level of expertise related to scope, core theories, concepts, terminologies and boundaries of chosen engineering discipline Possess a Bachelors of Science degree in a science or testing related field Excellent verbal and written English communication skills are essential as is attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple activities at once, a collaborative work ethic and a demonstrable desire to deliver outstanding service internally and externally. Possesses a demonstrated ability to apply academic knowledge within the context of Element’s business In-depth understanding of testing concepts Can analyze and compiles testing data from the tests performed Excellent skills in the use of various computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Sharepoint, as well as capability to learn new applications Company Overview Element is one of the fastest growing testing, inspection and certification businesses in the world.
