Job Description
Youth Affairs Specialist – FAO Overview The Office of Youth and Women (OYW) at FAO headquarters in Rome leads initiatives to empower youth and women across the organization and globally. The Youth Affairs Specialist will develop and implement strategy and action plans for the World Food Forum (WFF) tracks, programmes and workstreams, advancing youth empowerment for agrifood systems transformation. Responsibilities Coordinate and collaborate with partners to amplify WFF messages, events and content. Create and adapt presentations, articles, videos and other content, supporting key meetings and events. Collaborate with FAO divisions and partners to execute activities and meet agreed timelines. Manage preparation and organization of WFF key events (concept notes, invitations, follow‑up communications). Lead engagements with external partners (private sector, influencers, agencies) to enhance and execute campaigns. Co‑lead planning, partnerships, promotion and management of WFF key tracks. Oversee measurement and reporting of WFF track activity results. Co‑manage the WFF team of volunteers and interns. Develop new initiatives to boost youth inclusivity worldwide. Support the WFF Coordinator in other tasks as needed. Undertake short missions to field offices when requested. Perform any other related duties. Qualifications Advanced degree (political science, business administration, marketing, international development or similar). Bachelors with two additional years of relevant experience accepted. At least 1 year experience (Consultant) or 5 years (Category A) in advocacy, events, marketing communications or programme management within youth and/or food‑related organizations or development agencies. Working knowledge of English (C level); knowledge of a second FAO language is an asset.
