Job Description
Future Energy Skills Limited (FES) is a not-for-profit entity established and funded by energy industry/union/employer association and government collaboration. FES has two core purposes. It is the ‘voice’ of the energy sector in respect to advancing workforce and skills development initiatives providing informed, strategic advice to government and industry encompassing matters of education, training policy, research requirements and the delivery of related, high-profile projects. FES is an Energy Safe Victoria (ESV) authorised provider of assessment services in respect to the Licensed Electrical Worker Assessments including Licensed Electricians Assessment (LEA) and the Licensed Electrical Inspector (LEI) accreditation. Due to a reallocation of resources, Future Energy Skills now requires a suitably qualified and experienced Electrical Assessment professional to lead the experienced team responsible for the delivery of the organisation’s respected Licensed Electricians Assessment (LEA) program on behalf of ESV . In this varied and challenging role, the appointee will be responsible for the following key activities: Lead the delivery of the LEA Program (approximate time allocation 50%) · Proactively coordinate and monitor the delivery of the LEA program at FES assessment centres (Metro & Regional Victoria) in accordance with ESV Licensing Assessment Rules and the Future Energy Skills Licensing Compliance Policy. · Engage with ESV and industry stakeholders to assist in the development, moderation, and validation of the LEA Assessments. · Lead and coordinate the internal moderation processes to ensure consistency and compliance with ESV and FES policies and procedures. · Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all ESV personnel to facilitate clear and timely communication, clarity of shared commitments to goals and agreed plans, and the resolution of any operational issues which emerge in a prompt, professional and respectful manner. · Ensure program/resources scheduling is completed, at least three months in advance. · Assist with ensuring staff working offsite have all services prepared, equipment and accommodation booked prior to delivery. · Maintain accurate records. · Ensure all resources, tools, equipment, and materials are maintained to the standards required. · Represent FES at Licensing Committee, VET Committee meetings and both internal and external industry nights. Coordinate Candidate Support Program (approximate time allocation 5%) · Coordinate the FES advocacy role in supporting candidates through their licensing journey. · Maintain proactive communication processes that provide information to clients. · Assist the Executive Officer with continuous improvement model of the support program Continuous Professional Development of the Assessment Team (approximate time allocation 15%) · Ensure all new staff members and existing staff members are supported as they commence delivery of their assessment responsibilities. Lead the mentoring program for all new staff. · Ensure bi-annual and planned, ongoing peer to peer observations are conducted. · Coordinate monthly team meetings to provide open discussions on planning, monitoring, moderation, validation, and evaluation of resources. · Assist to ensure assessment team members maintain currency and undertake ongoing professional development. · Set up an internal PD program for quarterly within scheduled meetings. Licensing Assessment Program Evaluation & Development (approximate time allocation 20%) · Coordinate the evaluation of the effectiveness of the assessment program to comply with ESV and FES standards and requirements. · Continuously seek to identify opportunities and means to improve Future Energy Skills delivery of assessment processes on behalf of ESV to ensure FES is regarded as the leading Assessment organisation in the electrotechnology industry. · Develop, maintain and coordinate appropriate evaluation tool/s. · Coordinate the maintenance of relevant resources. Contribution to the Strategic & Annual Planning Processes (approximate time allocation 10%) · Assist the Executive Officer in the preparation of an annual plan for licensing delivery to maximise existing resources and ensure FES is responsive to industry and candidate requirements. · Inform the Executive Officer about expected future developments. Provide the EO with update reports for presentation to the FES Board on a quarterly or as requested basis. This position requires an experienced operational process leader with a proven record of taking ‘ownership’ of delivering excellent service to clients and an orientation to pursue continuous operational improvement. Having an ‘A’ Grade Electrician Licence, you will ideally be able to demonstrate the pursuit of additional professional development. ‘Hands-on’ and diverse experience in the electrotechnology industry and specific assessment experience within the Victorian VET framework is required. Sound knowledge and understanding of Energy Safe Victoria (ESV) licensing and assessment requirements and processes is vital. This is a permanent full-time position based at Future Energy Skill’s new industry training centre located in Clayton (near Monash University).
