WE ARE LOOKING FOR A JUNIOR SOLICITOR TO JOIN OUR TEAM The role An opportunity has arisen for a Family Lawyer to join our firm. G & D Lawyers, trading as Fair Go Law, is an established boutique family law firm located in Surry Hills. The firm has a strong social justice focus. It aims to offer quality family law representation at an affordable and realistic price. The firm tries to represent clients from beginning to end. You will be a third solicitor in the practice, working primarily on family law parenting and property matters. The firm offers a competitive salary, autonomy over your own files and work hours, very reasonable billing targets, and interesting, people-focussed matters. The principal solicitor will help you build your court skills. You should be capable enough to be ready to take on the challenge of managing your own cases, with support and supervision. You will get experience with the whole range of family law issues, including a good percentage of parenting matters. The vast majority of the matters are in court. You will regularly appear in court without counsel. You should consider applying if you have a strong interest in Family Law – and you want an interesting workload with the flexibility to allow a better work life balance. About you You should have a minimum of one years experience as paralegal in a law firm. You will have an interest in social justice and be keen to undertake some legal aid and the occasional pro bono matter. Our clients come from a range of different backgrounds and you will be a people person. The firm is open to graduates with limited family law experience if you have solid litigation experience in other areas, and are looking for a change.
