Assistant Program Officer – Recruitment and Onboarding Location: Based in Haymarket – Hybrid working with office attendance Employment Type: Ongoing, Full Time Role Potential Temporary Roles up to 12 months Clerk Grade: 5/6 Salary range: $99,938 - $110,271 super Come and build the future of DCS one entry level role at a time. Reporting to the Senior Advisor Programs and Partnerships, you will be familiar with projects and be someone who’s organised, empathetic, and ready to make a real difference in the lives of early career professionals. Working in a supportive and caring team, you’ll be providing end to end support for both graduates, trainees and other future pathway programs across the agency. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a collaborative environment, and wants to contribute to a program that’s shaping the future of public service. About the Role People and Process Improvement is our focus! Some duties include: Welcoming new talent: Support onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure graduates and trainees feel informed, included, and supported from day one. Creating memorable experiences: Help plan and coordinate events like inductions, workshops, and networking sessions that bring people together and build community. Keeping things running smoothly: Use tools like Microsoft Planner to manage tasks and timelines and keep shared inboxes and comms channels humming. Being a go-to support: Respond to enquiries from managers and graduates with fast and with empathy, helping them navigate their journey. Improving how we work: Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and help refine processes that make the program even better. Sharing insights: Prepare reports and presentations that tell the story of our program’s impact and progress. Working across systems: Use platforms like MyCareer, learning systems, and SAP to support HR-related activities and data management. About You A genuine interest in supporting people and creating positive experiences. Experience with employment programs or HR/Learning and Development programs will be highly regarded. Experience or exposure in supporting projects particularly in a continuous improvement environment. Experience with Microsoft Planner and Office Suite and program delivery Experience with Microsoft SharePoint Confidence working across HR systems (SAP experience essential). Strong coordination and stakeholder engagement skills.
