The Role As the Secondary Associate Principal, you will ideally be a strategic thinker, proactive planner, and skilled negotiator. Your strong leadership and high-level professional knowledge of secondary schooling will assist with the management of timetabling, coordination of standardised testing, and facilitation of staffing and resources across the school. The successful applicant should ideally have outstanding interpersonal skills to develop strong relationships with all stakeholders of the school community. Strong curriculum knowledge and the ability to lead professional learning communities is important to the role. The Secondary Associate Principal, alongside the leadership team, drives the school’s priorities and direction. The successful applicant should ideally have skills to lead teams of staff with a focus on student learning and progress, data-driven and evidence-based practice, and excellence. A deep knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and best practice in teaching will allow the Associate Principal to lead school improvement alongside teams of educators to ensure students make year-on-year progress. The successful applicant should ideally be well-versed in knowing how children learn best, including those who may require extra support as well as academic extension. Knowledge and experience in leading student services is advantageous to assist in the management of processes and resourcing to cater for the needs of all students. Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.
