Assessor - Work Based (Health & Social Care - Clinical) 36,351 - 40,067 *1.0 FTE / 35 Hours Based at Falkirk Campus / Hybrid Working (some travel will also be required) Permanent *Fractional posts will be considered About the Role Forth Valley College's Apprenticeships, Skills & Commercial Department is seeking a Work-Based Assessor in Health & Social Care, preferably with a clinical background, to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in supporting and assessing candidates undertaking Health & Social Care qualifications. The ideal candidate will have relevant, current industry experience and a strong knowledge and understanding of Health & Social Care (Clinical) practice. Key Responsibilities Deliver workplace guidance and support to candidates in compiling and presenting a comprehensive portfolio of evidence that meets the qualification's performance criteria and evidence requirements. Conduct fair, safe, and reliable assessments of candidates' skills and knowledge in their respective workplaces. Maintain excellent communication and IT skills to effectively manage interactions, records, and documentation. Demonstrate a strong passion for your professional discipline, with the ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage your workload independently. Inspire, encourage, and motivate candidates, fostering an environment conducive to learning and professional growth. Actively participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary assessment team, contributing to the continuous improvement of assessment processes and practices. Build and maintain positive relationships with external organisations and employer partners, demonstrating a professional and approachable manner. Essential Requirements Proven, relevant, and up-to-date hands-on industry experience, preferably within Clinical Health & Social Care disciplines. Exceptional communication and IT skills. Genuine enthusiasm for mentoring and supporting skill development within the Care Sector. Ability to work to tight deadlines and effectively manage personal workload.
