With support from the wider practice, the Director will be responsible for leading project delivery , managing client relationships , and driving business development . The successful candidate will bring extensive mechanical and/or electrical engineering expertise , providing technical leadership while promoting collaboration and the company’s shared values. Key Responsibilities Leadership Manage and lead the Building Services team. Conduct performance reviews, identify training needs, and encourage professional development. Provide technical mentorship and ensure quality and consistency across all projects. Operations & Business Systems Oversee team and project performance, including resourcing, budgeting, timesheets, and invoicing. Support senior management in implementing business strategies and operational processes. Marketing & Business Development Identify and pursue new project opportunities. Strengthen existing client relationships and develop new ones to expand the business portfolio. Contribute to wider marketing and growth initiatives. Quality & Delivery Ensure designs meet the highest technical standards and align with client expectations. Foster collaboration across disciplines to deliver fully integrated design solutions. Commercial Focus Drive fee income and monitor team financial performance. Manage project profitability and oversee commercial outcomes. Essential Skills and Experience Proven experience in a senior leadership or director-level role within Building Services. Strong financial management and commercial awareness. Demonstrable business development and client relationship management skills. Degree in a relevant discipline, with Chartered Engineer (CEng) status through CIBSE or IMechE preferred. Full, clean UK driving licence. Ongoing commitment to continuing professional development (CPD).
