PCU Nursing Job Details Location: Columbus, Ohio 43210 Unit: 8 East Rhodes Progressive Care Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse Start Date: December 1, 2025 End Date: March 2, 2026 Duration: 13-week contract Shifts: 3x12-hour night shifts (19:00 - 07:30), weekdays and weekends, rotating holidays Hours per Week: 36 Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1940 - $1990 Patient Ratio: 1:3 Float Requirement: Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed Registered Nurse Qualifications Minimum 2 years of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nursing experience Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – compact or Ohio state license BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association) EPIC charting experience Clinical skills: IV start, telemetry, central line care/management, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), dysrhythmia interpretation/management, IV insulin protocols, cardiac drip management (no titration), insulin drip titration Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program Previous travel nursing experience preferred Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only) Two professional references (one from manager/director or formal leadership) PCU Nurse Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a progressive care unit Monitor and manage patients with renal, hepatology, cardiology, pulmonology, and adult cystic fibrosis diagnoses Administer and monitor cardiac drips, heparin, insulin drips, and initiate pressors Operate specialized equipment: lift equipment, IV ultrasound machines, bladder scanners Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: IV team, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy Float to other nursing units within the hospital as required Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC electronic health records Participate in rotating holiday and weekend coverage Discover the opportunities of Ohio healthcare jobs and make a difference in patient care.
