Boilermaker / Welder

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS Grade 12 or equivalent Qualified Boilermaker / Welder (trade) Ability to read, understand and interpret technical drawings Ability to weld in different positions (flat, vertical, overhead) Knowledge of maintenance procedures and specified tools Own reliable transport Ability to communicate, understand, read and write English Must be punctual (essential) Willing to work as per shift assignments DUTIES Understand and apply information from technical drawings to determine appropriate welding methods Prepare materials by cutting, grinding and cleaning metal surfaces. Position and secure components for welding with various tools. Inspect welds for defects and ensure quality standards are met, addressing any issues and irregularities. Fabrication by cutting, shaping and assembling metal components to construct boilers, tanks and other vessels. Correct installation of boilers in industrial settings Maintenance and repair by inspecting, repairing and upgrading existing equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. Perform various tests to identify leaks, defects and ensure the integrity of boiler systems.
