Are you a highly skilled HVAC Maintenance Engineer? If so, we want to hear from you. About the Role We are seeking an experienced HVAC Maintenance Engineer to take ownership of both reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across a diverse estate. You'll be responsible for diagnosing and resolving issues, installing, testing, and commissioning HVAC systems to a high standard. The role also includes occasional coordination of small works and supervision of contractors, with a strong emphasis on energy performance and system optimisation. Key Responsibilities Diagnose faults and carry out PPM, RM, CM, statutory inspections, and non-destructive testing on HVAC systems including AHUs, FCUs, chillers, and heating systems. Optimise system performance through data analysis and operational improvements. Interpret BMS data to identify inefficiencies and implement corrective actions. Commission and re-commission plant and equipment. Maintain accurate records via the CAFM system. Undertake building services maintenance including fabric repairs. Ensure compliance with industry standards and health & safety regulations. Participate in emergency call-out rota. Liaise with helpdesk and contractors to deliver maintenance across the estate. Supervise and coordinate specialist sub-contractors and safe systems of work. Update O&M manuals to reflect asset changes. Plan and oversee works to ensure safety, welfare, and environmental compliance. Qualifications & Experience Apprenticeship or formal training in mechanical/electrical engineering. City & Guilds Level 3 in HVAC or building services. Knowledge of energy efficiency standards (e.g., TM44, CIBSE). Strong understanding of health & safety practices. Proven experience in HVAC fault finding and maintenance. Technical expertise in AHUs, FCUs, chillers, boilers, and pumps. Familiarity with water flow balancing and energy data analysis. Experience in occupied facilities (ideally laboratories). Proficiency with BMS (Trend systems preferred) and Concept Evolution software. Knowledge of SFG20 maintenance standards. Skills & Attributes Methodical and organised approach. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Strong attention to detail and record keeping. Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
