Job Description

Design Engineer – Exciting Opportunity with a Market-Leading Organisation X4 Group are proud to be partnering with a well-established global systems integrator who are expanding their engineering team. We’re seeking a talented Design Engineer to collaborate with project and engineering teams, producing high-quality electrical and mechanical drawings that support complex, world-class maritime projects. What you’ll be doing: Developing design concepts from first principles Producing detailed 2D and 3D drawings to ISO standards Supporting electrical and mechanical system designs, including enclosures, control panels, and 19” racks Using CAD tools (AutoCAD / SEE Electrical / ETAP) and advising on future software adoption Ensuring compliance with EU directives, BS7671 (18th edition), BS8888, EMC and LVD standards What we’re looking for: HNC/HND, apprenticeship, or equivalent in electrical/mechanical design 5 years’ experience in electrical/systems design (desirable) Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks and manufacturing techniques Ability to produce refined, high-quality design outputs at pace A proactive, problem-solving mindset with excellent attention to detail Eligible for SC Security Clearance What’s on offer: The chance to work with a market-leading global organisation Work on impactful projects that shape the future of maritime communications 7.5% Pension 25 days Leave Hybrid Working Private Health Sick Pay A collaborative, supportive environment that values innovation and engineering excellence Ready to take the next step?
