Job Description: R&D Analytical Scientist Location : Slough Contract Length : 12 months Working Hours : 37.5 hours/week Start Date : December (ASAP) Pay Rate : £18.49/hour About the Role This is a fully lab-based position within the R&D Analytics team - Remote working is not available. The successful candidate will support multiple projects in a matrix organizational structure and contribute to analytical development and sample analysis in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities Independently perform experimental work, analyze data, and report findings. Plan and complete assigned tasks within required timeframes. Liaise with scientists and project leads to close out technical reviews. Interpret data against specifications and identify trends. Communicate progress and escalate challenges to Line Manager or Project Lead. Maintain lab operations including stock taking and ordering. Document work in electronic lab notebooks. Participate in departmental meetings and administrative tasks. Technical Requirements Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of protein chemistry. Hands-on experience with: HPLC (e.g., size exclusion) Electrophoresis (e.g., CE SDS, icIEF) GC/GC-MS experience is a plus. Familiarity with LC-MS/MS methods for Proteomics, Metabolomics, or Lipidomics is desirable. Education & Experience BSc in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or Bioengineering. Recent graduates may be considered, but industry experience is preferred. Training & Development A tailored training plan will be implemented upon joining, with the expectation that the candidate will begin effectively supporting Protein & Process Analytics activities within 2 months.
