As a Software Development Apprentice, the successful candidate will work alongside experienced engineers, gaining hands-on experience with the latest tools and technologies. They will be involved in every stage of the development lifecycle, including coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance. In this role, you'll work towards your Level 3 Software Development Technician qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships. A Typical Day in the Job: Work across all stages of the software development lifecycle, from planning and design to testing, deployment, and maintenance. Write clear, logical, and maintainable code that meets project specifications and coding standards. Use version control systems to manage and store code safely. Help fix bugs and support the maintenance of existing software systems. Take part in different types of testing, such as unit, integration, and end-to-end testing. Follow secure coding practices to protect software from security risks. Connect code to data sources to ensure software functions correctly. Communicate and work with team members, stakeholders, and customers, and help create technical documents like user stories and design diagrams. Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the team at Baltic Apprenticeships. Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge Good analytical and collaboration skills. Confident communicator. Use own initiatives. Time management. Problem solving. Ability to work on their own and within a team. Continuous learner. Grade 6 in GCSE Mathematics & Grade 4 in GCSE English. Salary, Hours&Benefits: £23,000 per annum. 9am-6pm Monday to Friday. Private medical. Life insurance. 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
