Job Description
THE SCOTTISH ELECTRICAL CHARITABLE TRAINING TRUST (SECTT) SECTT manages the Scottish Joint Industry Board (SJIB) Electrical Contracting Apprenticeship and Adult Training Scheme throughout Scotland and requires a Training Officer for the Lanarkshire area. Ideally, the successful applicant should be based in the Central Area and will be expected to travel throughout the Central Belt. The principal duties of the Training Officer are: • Carry out selection tests for all applicants. • Manage recruitment in their area. • Register and induct apprentices onto the SJIB training scheme. • Monitor and assess the performance of apprentices during their training at college and their place of work. • Liaise with employers and college staff on apprentice’s performance through the online OneFile portfolio system. • Assess the Off-the-Job training e-Portfolio. • Assist apprentices to identify where training gaps exist. • Conduct information evenings to apprentices about their Final Integrate Competence Assessment. Applicants will have served a recognised electrical apprenticeship, possess the relevant industry-based qualification and have five years post apprenticeship experience. Ideally, the applicant will hold an Occupational Health and Safety qualification; and be trained to current assessor qualifications; however appropriate training will be provided where necessary. Applicants must have a high level of computer literacy due to the reporting nature of the SVQ. Starting Salary: c. £46,000. A generous package including a company car will be provided.
