Job Advert: Freelance Civil Design Engineer Position: Freelance Civil Design Engineer Location: Hybrid from Edinburgh office - potential to only come in 1 day a week Duration: Initial 6 months - with extension review made at month 5 Rate: £30-40ph DOE We are seeking a skilled and experienced Freelance Civil Design Engineer proficient in Microdrainage and Civil 3D software to join our dynamic team. As part of our project team, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and delivering civil engineering solutions for various infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities: Design and model drainage systems using Microdrainage . Use Civil 3D for the design and drafting of civil engineering infrastructure, including roads, grading, drainage, and utilities. Produce detailed design drawings and reports for planning and construction. Work closely with project managers, clients, and other engineering teams to ensure that designs meet project requirements and local regulations. Ensure the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and compliance with all relevant codes and standards. Skills and Experience: Strong proficiency in Microdrainage and Civil 3D software. Solid background in civil engineering design, with a focus on drainage, roads, and infrastructure. Knowledge of relevant industry standards, design codes, and regulations. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with clients and multidisciplinary teams. Experience working with both small- and large-scale civil engineering projects. Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality results on time. Desirable: Experience with other design tools such as AutoCAD and PDS Chartered status or working towards it (preferred but not essential).
