HIGHLAND RESERVE FORCES AND CADETS ASSOCIATION (HRFCA) PART TIME CLEANER – Cadet Training Centre Boddam GENERAL Appointment Details a. Job Title: Part Time Cleaner – Cadet Training Centre Boddam b. Job Grade: SZ1 c. Department: HQ 2 HIGHLANDERS ACF d. Reports to: County Quartermaster, 2 HIGHLANDERS ACF e. Job Purpose: The part time cleaner will be required to undertake the cleaning duties required within the Cadet Training Centre Boddam. The employee will be required to attend for 10 hours per week (2 hrs per day), Between Monday and Friday. You must book in at the centre on arrival and on departure. The cleaning duties schedule requires to facilitate the centre usage requirements. PRINCIPAL AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY AND DUTIES a. Areas of responsibility, include offices, utility rooms, toilets, kitchens, training and conference rooms, communal lobby areas, rest and social areas. b. General dusting and cleaning of all surface areas, doors/handles/light switches/sockets/stairs/bannisters/radiators. c. Empty waste bins from all rooms / areas described in sub-para a. and maintain waste separation. d. Vacuum, sweep and or mop all floor surfaces in rooms / areas described in sub-para a. e. Clean toilet pans/urinals, wash hand basins. f. Maintain sufficient stocks of cleaning materials and order replacement stock through the Centre Caretaker who will engage with the County Stores Assistant (CSA) and/or the County Quartermaster (CQM) to order. g. You are to report any damages or deficiencies found to the caretaker, who will inform the CQM. h. You are to carry out your duties in conjunction with the Caretaker and within the Professional Support Staff Team. i. Kitchen Cupboards, Fridge and microwave at appropriate intervals throughout the year. Description of Additional Duties a. Non-specific duties as and when required within the general conditions of the Part Time Cleaners stated job specification Specific Requirements a. There are no specific professional or other qualifications required for this appointment. However, an understanding of, or previous training in COSHH, Manual handling, Basic Fire Safety, would be advantageous, although training can be provided for the right candidate. VACANCY NOTICE – CLEANER AT THE CADET TRAINING CENTRE BODDAM (2 HLDRS BN ACF) A vacancy has arisen with the Highland Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Association (HRFCA) for a Cleaner at the Cadet Training Centre at Boddam, Aberdeenshire. The position is part time, 10 hours per week. Applicants should reside within easy commuting distance of Boddam. This is a Crown Servant (Civil Servant Band SZ1 equivalent) and the salary is £6,581. The successful candidate will be eligible to join the Council of RFCA’s Pension Scheme which operates on a Career Average Revalued Earnings (CARE) basis and has a personal contribution for members of 5% of pensionable earnings. Annual leave, excluding Public Holidays, is 25 days per year, rising to 30 days after 5 years’ service; previous public sector employment may count towards qualifying years’ service.
