Job Description

The successful candidate will direct and perform skilled mechanical maintenance work, planning and scheduling daily and weekly maintenance activities, and assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring preventive maintenance programs. Duties and Responsibilities: Maintenance & Diagnostics Conduct Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) inspections to determine the causes of component failures. Perform diagnostic tests and inspections to identify machine and component defects. Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems. Demonstrate proficiency in reading and interpreting hydraulic and electrical schematics. Carry out primary maintenance tasks in line with OEM specifications and company standards. Remove, repair, adjust, overhaul, assemble, disassemble, and replace defective components. Preventive Maintenance & Compliance Maintain and adhere to preventive maintenance schedules to ensure maximum equipment availability. Perform thorough oil sampling, ensuring samples are taken correctly, labelled, and submitted to the planning department for analysis. Enforce strict compliance with PPE use, occupational health, and safety standards. Uphold housekeeping standards and contribute to a safe working environment. Administration & Reporting Collect daily work orders and ensure job cards are completed accurately for every task. Provide clear feedback to the planning and supervisory teams regarding equipment status and repair requirements. Additional Skills Apply basic boilermaking and welding skills when required. Support fellow team members and apprentices with technical guidance and knowledge transfer. Requirements: Education & Certification Red Seal Trade Certificate as Diesel Mechanic. Valid drivers license. Grade 12 Experience Minimum 7 years of post-trade experience as a Diesel Mechanic. Hands-on experience with TMMs, including ADTs, excavators, front-end loaders, dozers, mobile crushers, and mobile screens Skills & Attributes Strong mechanical, technical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics effectively. Proven ability to conduct thorough oil sampling and interpret results to guide preventive maintenance decisions. Basic boiler making and welding competence. Good written and verbal communication skills. Clear criminal record. Resilient and adaptable to working in remote-site conditions. Actively contribute to cultivating and maintaining a positive, accountable, and safety-driven culture within the company.
