Creditors Clerk / Accounts Assistant

Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Verify accuracy of invoices and GRVs and obtain authorizations before processing invoices and credit notes Reconcile supplier statements to the accounts payable ledger and resolve discrepancies Prepare weekly and monthly payment runs Maintain accurate and up-to-date creditor accounts, including contact details and payment terms Handle payment, invoice and account status queries from suppliers and internal departments Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures and relevant regulatory requirements Assist with month-end accounts payable reporting Assist with month-end and year-end close activities Assist with various general accounting duties as required SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS: Matric / Grade 12 with Accounting or Maths preferred Bookkeeping Diploma or similar qualification advantageous Previous accounting experience preferred Sound knowledge of Creditors and Debtors processes Accounting software experience (Xero advantageous) Computer literate with strong MS Office and Excel skills Excellent attention to detail and accuracy under pressure Strong communication and interpersonal skills Excellent organization and time management abilities Ability to work independently and as part of a team *ONLY SHORTLISTED CANDIDATES WILL BE CONTACTED*
