Procurement and Contracts Management Assistant £27,920 per annum (pay award pending) - Grade 3 Wellington House, Leeds / Hybrid Permanent – 37 hours per week Please note that the Combined Authority will consider requests for part-time working and/or job share. We currently have a vacancy for a Procurement and Contracts Management Assistant to join our skilled Commercial Team. In this role, you will contribute to the delivery of successful end-to-end procurement projects working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders with the opportunity to lead your own projects to gain experience, skills, and knowledge of working in a dynamic procurement function. We are looking for a Procurement & Contracts Management Assistant who possesses experience of providing administrative and project support, and a keen interest in procurement, public policy, or local government. As part of our Commercial team, you will contribute to a broad portfolio of high-profile procurement activities across the organisation. You will also support and advise internal stakeholders through effective business partnering, helping to achieve successful outcomes while ensuring all activity is compliant with relevant legislation and best practice. As part of your development, we will support you to undertake the Commercial Procurement & Supply Post-Graduate Level 4 Diploma with the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) to build your professional expertise in this area. The Role Reporting into the Commercial Manager, your key responsibilities will include: · Assist in the provision of a professional and compliant procurement function to the Combined Authority, supporting procurement and tender processes for high and medium sized procurements by checking tender documentation, dealing with queries and assisting other members of the procurement team where appropriate. · Deliver a professional, best practice and compliant end to end procurement service to the Combined Authority for small, simple procurements as allocated by the Procurement and Contract Manager. · Support the Combined Authority and its budget holders in creating compliant purchase orders within agreed timescales whilst monitoring and reporting on expenditure. About You You will have the following key skills, attributes, education and experience: · Educated to A level Grade A-C or equivalent relevant education/experience. · GCSEs to include Maths and English grade C equivalent or above. · Practical experience of successfully performing in a similar role. · Prepared to undertake CIPS Post-Graduate Diploma. · Keen interest in public sector procurement, public policy or local government.
