Job Description

The Role Teach Now is seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Brent. The successful candidate will work within the Upper School SEN department, providing small-group teaching and targeted interventions for students across Key Stages 3–5 who require additional support. This position focuses on alternative learning interventions, including Study Support, Entry Level Science, and pre-/over-learning in English, Maths, and Science, helping students build confidence, skills, and independence. You’ll also act as a key worker for selected pupils, ensuring pastoral and academic progress through strong communication with parents, carers, and the wider inclusion team. Key Responsibilities • Plan and deliver engaging lessons and interventions for small groups of SEN students. • Teach core study skills and foundational concepts in English, Maths, and Science. • Support students with EHCPs to access the curriculum and meet individual targets. • Collaborate with subject teachers to differentiate lessons and adapt classroom materials. • Attend departmental meetings and contribute to reviews, planning, and record-keeping. • Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to promote holistic progress. About You • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent required. • Experience working with SEN students, ideally within Key Stages 3–5. • Confident teaching small groups and delivering intervention programmes. • Skilled in adapting teaching to meet varied needs and learning styles. • Positive, patient, and committed to inclusive education. • Desirable: Experience with Entry Level qualifications or SEMH/ASC support, and familiarity with EHCP processes.
