Company Description Alternative Macro Signals specializes in leveraging supervised machine learning to analyze unstructured data in economics, macro, and finance. By combining state-of-the-art Natural Language Processing models with analysts' expertise, we extract patterns from news relevant to specific investment processes. We offer a range of ready-made signals across various sectors and asset classes and assist asset managers in developing custom models, providing cost-effective tools compared to in-house development. Role Description This is a 3 to 6-month internship role for an Analyst specializing in Economics. The hybrid role allows for some work-from-home flexibility. The intern will be involved in conducting economic research, analyzing macroeconomic trends, and applying statistical methods to support investment process development. Additionally, the intern will collaborate with the team to utilize Natural Language Processing models for data analysis. Qualifications Strong background in Economic Research and Macroeconomics Analytical Skills and Economics knowledge Proficiency in Statistics Python familiar Familiarity with machine learning and Natural Language Processing is a plus Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English) Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Economics, Finance, or a related field Proficiency in English; knowledge of French is an advantage Internship compensation, with travel/housing support (preferably via "stage conventionné" with a French university).
