Job Description
Are you passionate about developing people and shaping the future of learning? This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-respected national charity as Learning & Development Manager, where you’ll have the chance to elevate the L&D function — creating meaningful impact across the organisation. The Opportunity As Learning & Development Manager, you’ll take the lead in designing and delivering a progressive learning strategy that supports both organisational goals and individual growth. This role offers the autonomy to shape the L&D function, bring training in-house over time, and enhance the current offering through creativity, collaboration, and innovation. Key Responsibilities: • Develop and implement a charity-wide learning and development strategy aligned to organisational priorities. • Review and evolve existing learning initiatives, introducing new approaches and tools to support continuous development. • Build and maintain strong relationships with managers and key stakeholders to understand learning needs and priorities. • Oversee external training providers while gradually developing in-house learning capability. • Design and deliver engaging workshops, programmes, and resources to support leadership and professional development. • Measure and evaluate the impact of learning interventions to ensure ongoing improvement and effectiveness. About You: You’ll be a confident and collaborative L&D professional who enjoys both the strategic and hands-on elements of learning. You’ll bring ideas, energy, and a genuine passion for helping others reach their potential. You’ll have: • Proven experience in learning and development, ideally within a values-driven or not-for-profit environment. • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence and engage at all levels. • Experience designing and delivering training programmes, and ideally developing digital or blended learning solutions. • A creative, proactive approach and the confidence to shape and embed new initiatives. Why Join? This is a rare opportunity to make a tangible difference — not only by enhancing the organisation’s learning culture but also by ensuring its people have the skills, confidence, and support they need to continue their vital work across the UK
