Position : 9002212 (48872) Expected Start Date: November 17, 2025 Union: SUN Facility: Regina General Hospital City/Town: Regina Department: Organ Donation Type: Part-time regular FTE: 0.82 Shift Information: Days, Standby Hours of Work: 184 hours per 6 weeks, 23 shifts of 8 hours Scheduled hours of work may be reduced (if applicable) during the rotation stipulated when a statutory holiday is recognized during that period Relief: No Float: No Field Hours: No Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Nurse B $42.040 to $52.440 Travel Required: Yes Job Description: The incumbent is an expert clinical practitioner who integrates experience, skills and knowledge from nursing theory and principles of adult learning and thrives to make a difference. Our mandate includes increasing public awareness of the importance of organ and tissue donation, education of health care professionals, and ensuring a safe and effective donation and transplant system in Saskatchewan. The Deceased Donor Coordinator guides each step of the donation process including donor identification through referral indicators, donor suitability assessment, declaration, approach and consent with families, to the medical donor management optimizing organ and tissue yield for recipient transplantation. After each donation there is family follow-up and support and information transfer with donation and recipient programs. Human Resources Exemption: No Experience Recent (within last 2 years) clinical experience in organ/tissue donation 2 years highly acute nursing experience (critical care or ER) Education Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) Competencies Intermediate - Computer skills Intermediate - Problem solving skills Intermediate - Decision making skills Intermediate - Interpersonal skills Intermediate - Verbal communication skills Intermediate - Written Communication Skills Knowledge and Abilities Ability to meet treatment needs with a client/family centered approach to care Demonstration of extreme attention to detail Knowledge in database management Demonstrated strong theoretical base and assessment skills Ability to set priorities, recognize, and maintain confidential information.
