Amazon Financial Technology Team is looking for a results-oriented, driven software development engineer to work in our Software Development Center in Sao Paulo, who can help us create the next generation of distributed, scalable financial systems. Our ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, relishes working with big data, and enjoys the challenge of complex business contexts that are defined in real time. We need someone to design and develop services that facilitate global financial transactions worth billions (USD) annually. A Software Development Engineer (SDE) at Amazon works on real-world problems on a global scale, owns their systems end to end and influences the direction of our technology that impacts hundreds of millions of customers around the world. You can expect to design flexible and scalable solutions, and work on some of the most complex challenges in large-scale computing by utilizing your skills in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming. This role offers the opportunity to work on a small development team in one of our rapidly growing organizations. You will learn how to design, implement and test highly scalable solutions using AWS cloud platform and its products, in challenging agile projects, working with best-in-class professionals. Key job responsibilities Develop projects through the entire software life cycle, from requirement assessment and service design to interface creation, code development, testing, and final deployment for our tax customers. Evaluate, recommend, and leverage a diverse array of AWS technologies (e.g., Lambda, Fargate, EMR, SNS/SQS, API Gateway, DynamoDB, Redshift, S3) to architect and build highly scalable solutions that drive innovation and efficiency. Design and code technical solutions using Java, Spark, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, and other languages to deliver substantial value to our clients. Build iteratively using agile methodologies. Basic Qualifications 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience 2 years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C#, including object-oriented design 3 years of full software development life cycle experience (coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, operations) Preferred Qualifications Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems Experience with full software development life cycle processes (coding standards, code reviews, source control, build, testing, operations) Experience with AWS is a plus Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
