Engineering Manager 1 - Advanced Analytics, Graphing Paris, France The Engineering Manager will set the product direction and coach and develop team members of the Advanced Analytics team, part of the Graphing organization. The manager will staff and lead projects to build end-to-end experiences for the observability engineers who are Datadog's core users. They will extend the rich capabilities of core widgets like the timeseries and heatmap visualizations, and find innovative ways to leverage existing Datadog data sources. The manager will also partner with other product teams to understand their customers and design and build delightful data experiences for the users. What You’ll Do: Work with Product Management and Design to plan and staff projects for the Advanced Analytics team Coach and develop engineers at various levels, from new university graduates to senior engineers with years of industry experience Help lead the Data Visualization group and the Graphing organization, ensuring strong cross-team communication and designing best practices around project management, code review, architecture patterns, and more. Think multiple quarters ahead to anticipate cross-team dependencies and blockers to goals. See opportunities to appropriately reuse or customize features across dashboards, notebooks, and product pages. Deeply understand the needs of our customers and other Datadog products we work with. Participate in customer conversations, review product briefs, read feature requests, and coach team members to adopt these practices as well. Hold the team to a high standard for operations practices, including bug triage and remediation, incident response, and gathering and analyzing performance telemetry for our widgets. Who You Are: At least 2 years of people management experience in a software engineering or similar setting Excellent communication skills, including at delivering clear, actionable, and empathetic feedback Product-oriented: you put solving customer problems first and know how to ship features quickly and iterate on them Passionate about data visualization and building intuitive, performant user interfaces Demonstrated sense of ownership over your team's work [Bonus] Active participant in the data visualization or software engineering community through conference talks, blog posts, open source projects, teaching/mentorship, or other practices.
