Job Title: Engineering Manager – Fire Systems Location: Kent Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent Overview: We’re looking for a technically strong Engineering Manager to lead a team of around 50 fire engineers across projects, service, and maintenance. You’ll be the go-to escalation point , ensuring technical excellence, smooth delivery, and high standards across all operations. If you’re a hands-on leader with a background in fire detection systems and a passion for developing people, this role offers the chance to shape the future of our engineering team. Key Responsibilities: Lead, support, and develop engineers across installation, commissioning, service, and maintenance. Act as the senior technical escalation point for complex issues. Oversee performance, safety, and compliance with BS 5839 and industry standards. Drive training, mentoring, and apprenticeship development. Plan resources effectively to meet project and service targets. Champion technical excellence, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. About You: Experienced leader with a fire systems engineering background. Strong knowledge of leading fire alarm systems (Gent, Hochiki, Advanced, Kentec, etc.). Confident fault-finder and problem-solver. Proven experience managing large engineering teams. FIA-trained or equivalent qualifications preferred. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
