We are a not-for-profit Catholic private hospital which operates across four sites at Fitzroy, East Melbourne, Kew and Werribee. ABOUT YOUR NEW ROLE: We are seeking a highly motivated, professional and experienced Nurse Unit Manager for our 30 bed Oncology/Haematology Ward at our Fitzroy campus. Reporting to the General Manager/Director of Clinical Services you will be responsible for, day-to-day operations of the department, provide leadership that facilitates exceptional patient care, and promotes advancement of clinical practice. You will be leading a team of highly specialised, friendly and experienced nurses inclusive of graduate nurses and postgraduate students. Our surgeons and doctors are leaders in their field with their contemporary surgical techniques and treatments. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate previous leadership experience, be passionate and driven to ensure exceptional quality and safe patient centred care is delivered, and have strong communication and teamwork skills. This is a very exciting time to be joining our organisation. For over 100 years, St Vincent's Hospital has been at the heart of Victorian healthcare. Now, we're taking the next big step-expanding with a world-class 12-level tower at St Vincent's Private Hospital in Fitzroy which opened mid-2024. Further redevelopment works are scheduled to be opening mid to late 2025 in our existing Tower. This exciting development means greater access to leading specialists, cutting-edge technology, and life-saving treatments for you and your family. Responsibilities will include (but will not be limited to); Provide direction, support and advice to nursing staff and other support personnel Establish and develop effective relationships with staff, AMPs, patients, families and significant others Act as a positive role model maintaining the unit and hospital policies and procedures Exhibit leadership qualities and utilise team building strategies to promote a continuous improvement culture leading to improved patient outcomes and experience Lead the team for efficient and effective management of resources by promoting flexibility and responsiveness to ensure alignment with activity The successful candidate will have; Current registered nurse with AHPRA registration Previous leadership experience either in Oncology/Haematology or at the NUM level Ability to influence and lead continuous quality of care improvements High level of communication and interpersonal skills Experience in the use of IT platforms such as IBA(Webpas), IMC, Kronos, and Riskman, or similar How to Apply: Your application must contain a cover letter and CV to be considered.
