Job Description Job Description Project Engineer – Automotive Manufacturing A growing team is seeking a Project Engineer with a strong background in automotive manufacturing , general assembly , or related engineering disciplines . The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in controls engineering , mechanical design , and process optimization within specific business segments such as BIW (Body in White) , Chassis/Glass , or Special Welding . Education and Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field from a four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience 3 to 5 years of related experience in automotive manufacturing , particularly in BIW , Chassis/Glass , or Special Welding Engineering degree preferred, or a minimum of 8 years of experience in General Assembly or Automotive Manufacturing Engineering Technical Competencies: Proficiency in controls engineering and mechanical design Understanding of: Force analysis Design standardization Manufacturing process development CAD (Computer-Aided Design) Root Cause Analysis Reliability & Maintainability (R&M) Statistical Process Control (SPC) Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite , including: Outlook Word Excel PowerPoint Ability to review CAD models using relevant design software (preferred: NX , Teamcenter , or AutoCAD / Acad ) Skills & Abilities: Strong ability to read and interpret technical documents , such as: Safety rules Operating and maintenance instructions Procedure manuals Skilled in technical writing for routine reports and correspondence Confident in public speaking and presenting information to customers and internal teams Comfortable applying: Probability and statistical inference Geometry and trigonometry Fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions Strong problem-solving skills in standardized technical environments Capable of interpreting and executing instructions in written , oral , or diagram form Controls Engineer, automotive manufacturing, engineering disciplines, BIW, Chassis/Glass, Special Welding, Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, 3 to 5 years of related experience, General Assembly, Automotive Manufacturing Engineering, mechanical design, force analysis, design standardization, manufacturing process development, CAD, Root Cause Analysis, R&M, SPC, FMEA, Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, review CAD models, NX, Teamcenter, AutoCAD, technical writing, public speaking, problem-solving skills
