About Stainless Steel Vessels Limited Stainless Steel Vessels Limited design, install and commission process pipework and equipment, including full turnkey brewhouses, to meet the needs of beverage and pharmaceutical manufacturers. Our customers range from craft independent brewers to global blue-chip drinks manufacturers. About the Pipefitter Welder Nearly all of our work is hygienic stainless steel dairy tube welding for the brewing industry so it is imperative you have experience and that you can weld to a hygienic standard. We install and commission equipment for a wide variety of customers who are based across the UK and Europe, so travel and overnight stays are frequent. SSV Limited covers expenses whilst you’re away from home, including accommodation and meals. As a Pipefitter Welder you will be responsible for stainless steel dairy tube pipe welding and pipefitting, reading and interpreting engineering blueprints, steelwork fabrication and welding activities, both planned and reactive maintenance, and ensuring facilities are maintained in compliance with company processes and EH&S, design and maintenance standards. Responsibilities of the Pipefitter Welder * Welding thin wall stainless steel dairy tube and (SS) schedule tube welding on customer sites across the UK and Europe, and in our workshop in Leeds. * Preparing vessels and equipment for NDT inspection. * Providing technical and troubleshooting support for mechanical matters, including breakdowns. * Assisting with the development, implementation and review of site-wide maintenance programmes and procedures. * Assisting with the control and coordination of spare parts and the optimisation of stock levels associated with pipe fitting and welding. * Working safely and within the requirements of all SSV RAMS. * Complying with safe work systems and maintenance procedures. * Maintaining a high level of housekeeping throughout any work area. * Reporting unsafe situations or occurrences. * Providing on the job guidance, support and training to junior team members Qualifications and Experience Required * A current or previously held coding in BS EN ISO 9606-1:2017. * Experience with primarily stainless steels grades in butt and fillet welds with or without filler materials from groups FM1, FM2. * Experience in a range of pipe diameters from 25mm to 300mm and for fillets from 0.8 mm to 12m in all positions PA,PC,PE,PF,PG (6G). * Able to conduct visual testing of welds as per ISO 17637. * At least five years experience of pipe fitting and welding, with TIG Welding experience necessary. * Proficiency in planning pipe and service routes to provide a hygienic, efficient and aesthetically pleasing pipe design. Ability to read and understand pipework schematics and engineering drawings. * The ability to spend extended periods away from home on sites across the UK initially and Europe in the future. For the most part up to 5 days at a time but on occasion weekends are also required. * Ability to work as part of a team and train less experienced colleagues. * Confined space trained or willing to undergo the training. * Must have a UK driving licence and not more than 6 penalty points.
