Cad Technician

Market 36 Recruitment are currently for an CAD Technician on behalf of our client based in Sudbury on a permanent basis. Our client is seeking a CAD Technician with a strong background in computer-aided design and proficiency in a range of CAD software applications, specifically SolidWorks. In this role, you will play a key part in producing high-quality technical drawings and schematics to support their engineering and design projects. Roles & Responsibilities * Produce and update detailed technical drawings and schematics using SOLIDWORKS. * Work closely with engineers and designers to understand project requirements and specifications. * Ensure all drawings are accurate and comply with relevant industry standards. * Perform quality checks to identify and resolve any design discrepancies or errors. * Support the preparation of project documentation, including specifications and reports. * Maintain a well-organised library of CAD files, change notes, and project documentation for efficient team access. * Stay up to date with the latest CAD technologies and best practices to continually improve productivity. Experience, education & qualifications * Strong 3D CAD skills, with proven experience using SolidWorks. * Excellent computer literacy, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. * Formal engineering background, ideally with an electro-mechanical focus. * Recognised engineering apprenticeship and/or relevant qualification (ONC, HNC, HND, or degree level). We are ideally seeking a college leaver or former apprentice with 1–2 years of industry experience who is looking to take the next step in their career. Previous experience in an engineering environment is essential.
